Custom Art Proposal For
Overview
Barbara Hionides proposes the following design for the Florida Fin Fest in conjunction with the Ocean Conservancy, designed to spread awareness, establish empathy for ocean life, and serve as tool to promote the ocean conservancy’s efforts.
Wall Mural
The wall mural will feature a surrealistic perspective of the deep sea, but with elements of surprise by including wastes that pollute an otherwise serene scene. Our oceans are polluted with an average of 2.5 trillion pieces of trash, and 60 million gallons of oil spills a year. This mural brings forth these unpleasant realities using public art, in hopes for people to be reminded of the magical underwater world which we often take for granted. The mural also includes the Ocean Conservancy Logo on the bottom right hand corner. Any suggestions are welcomed.
